Friuli-Venezia Giulia (6) from the Dolomites to the vineyards of Pinot Grigio

Here we find the easternmost part of the Dolomites and beautiful coastal towns. Travel to Italy this region goes back a long way, but is not very well known. It’s a shame and a shame.

The author Ernest Hemingway already met Friuli at the age of 17 as an ambulance driver in the First World War. They still love him down there and we love Friuli for all the wonderful things you can read about here. And there started our interest in Friuli, one of Italy’s 20 regions (See the map above). It was the incredibly elegant white wines that drove curiosity, but there is much more to come.

Liguria benefits from the renewed interest in the less known Italian destinations. It has always been a great place to visit but overlooked. Now we flock to enjoy the sun, the Italian laid-back lifestyle, and beauty. It has meanwhile become one of the Italians’ own travel darling. And if the Italians come there, it is approved. Emilia-Romagna (8). Delicious food and surroundings

We are in the south of Northern Italy, classic Italy with an emphasis on culture and food culture. Emilia-Romagna, which is one of 20 Italian regions, includes a large part of the Poslett in Northern Italy, where, by the way, some of the world’s best rice is grown. The region has an area of 22,124 km² with a population of 4 million. The region is one of Italy’s richest provinces.

Tuscany (9), Italy’s uncrowned wine region, gourmet and wellness destination

Toscana or Tuscany is for most people the most classic place to visit in Northern Italy, but this could become a long discussion, like what about Umbria, Emilia-Romagna, and Veneto?With exquisite restaurants, overnight stays at wineries, some of the world’s best wine with the Super Tuscans, and a fantastic beach with the EU flag, and Italy’s cleanest sea water, there really is something to look forward to. Umbria (10), As beautiful as Tuscany, just more accessible

Umbria or Umbria in Italian is a mountainous Italian region. It borders Tuscany to the west, Marche to the east, and Lazio to the south. The region has an area of 8,456.04 km² and a population of 882,015. The capital of the region is the university and cultural city of Perugia, where we read a little as young people. Hi Roberto! The Marche region is located in the central part of the country and borders the regions of Emilia-Romagna to the north, Tuscany and the Republic of San Marino to the northwest, Umbria to the west, Abruzzo to the south and Lazio to the southwest, and the Adriatic Sea to the east. The capital of the region is Ancona.

Lazio (12), the very center of Italy, and then there is Rome

Lazio (Latin: Latium) is an extremely central region of Italy. Both geographically and of political and historical importance. Its neighboring regions are Tuscany, Umbria, Abruzzo, Molise, Campania and the Tyrrhenian Sea.

The regional capital is Rome from the Fontana di Trevi to the Colosseum and the incredible Vatican. Abruzzo (13), known for its delicious wine

Abruzzo is a lighter southern Italian region. It has an area of 10,794 km² and has around 1.3 million. citizens. The capital of the region is L’Aquila. Abruzzo is divided into four provinces: Aquila, Chieti, Pescara and Teramo.

Abruzzo is known as “Europe’s green lung” because of the region’s incredibly beautiful three national parks, one regional park and several nature reserves. In a few words, Abruzzo naturally has it all. Wonderful lakes, the Adriatic coast, unpolluted parks, breathtaking mountain ranges, magical medieval towns, all kinds of nature, climate and landscapes: in spring you can lie on a beach on the Trabocchi coast and then walk through the streets of one of the pearls of this area, the town of Vasto, and within an hour you are at the top of one of the ski resorts in Majella National Park. And if you’re not skiing or planning to visit Italy during the summer, you can always hike or hike into one of the regional parks and reach amazing villages (such as Rocca Calascio and Santo Stefano di Sessanio) and panoramic views of the Gran Sasso (Campo Imperatore).

Molise (14), small and delicious also counts

Molise is the second smallest of Italy’s 20 regions. It is located in the southern part of Central Italy. It borders Abruzzo to the northwest, Lazio to the west, Campania to the south, Puglia to the southeast and the Adriatic Sea to the northeast. The region has an area of 4,438 km² and a population of 308,493.

Campania is a region in southern Italy. Its neighboring regions are Lazio, Molise, Apulia, and Basilicata. The regional capital is Naples. Other important cities are Salerno, Caserta, Benevento, Avellino, Sorrento, Amalfi,  Positano, Torre del Greco, Pozzuoli, Aversa and Capua.
