Guadeloupe or in English the Guadeloupe Islands , a mini island kingdom in French hands is not so far from Denmark as one might think, actually “only” 7300 km in direct line and less than 500 km from Florida. It is more than one island, however, the other islands are relatively small, usually less than km in length.

South here lies La Désirade , a little private and untouched by the “tooth of the time”. Here it is the non-infamous iguana who is king. Les Saintes , is a petite island with one of the world’s most beautiful bays, and finally Marie-Galante again having beautiful sandy beaches and a welcoming population, also worth visiting
