Trying to sum up India in a neat little introduction is like trying to eat a whole elephant in 5 minutes, and that, by the way, would simply never be accepted in a country, where India´s Hindus consider the cow to be the holiest of all creatures, while monkeys, mice and rats – and yes, elephants – among many other creatures, represent important entities and are highly respected. The country is enormous (the seventh-largest in the world), and in 2017 had a population of approx. 1.4 billion. It stretches all the way from the Himalayas in the north to the Indian Ocean in the south, with all the diversity that includes, both in the landscape, people and well…just about everything.
